Country Drive and Dinner for Charity

The Audi Club Western PA Chapter is holding a Country Drive event on Saturday, Oct 7th. The drive will be held in the countryside east of Pittsburgh, hopefully with some early fall foliage. The route is about 120 miles long with 3 hours of driving not including a rest stop. Again this year we are inviting Mercedes Benz Club members to join us. Detailed driving directions (paper and Google maps link) will be provided. Note that since we run in small groups of cars, individuals can also participate. The roads are lightly traveled back roads that pass through scenic countryside with some nice twisty bits. This is a fun drive on public roads and is not a rally.

We will gather at Panera Bread in Murrysville at 12:00 to give us some time to check out our cars and grab a bite to eat before we start. Make sure you have a full tank of gas when you arrive. There will be a drivers meeting at 12:30 before the cars are released. The rest stop will be at Ohiopyle which should be fun; watch the rapids and stretch your legs. The drive will end at the Tapped Brick Oven on Rt 30 West of Greensburg, for dinner with our Audi and Mercedes friends. The Tapped Brick Oven has 30 beers on tap and a large varied menu.
As in the past, we like to raise a little money for charity with the event, so we will collect $20/car. Bring your spouse and/or friends. Let Terry (schulztt@gmail.com) know how many people are coming for the drive AND for dinner. Signup closes 10/3 so we can let the restaurant know how many they will be serving. We will be in a private room so seating is limited; so signup early.
